Victor Aidoo,Abdul Manaf,Fredrick Ansah Botchway, A. lawali Mamani and Benjamin Afutu were all on the scoresheet as the Phobians overwhelmed coach Kwaku Danso’s side with a stunning home performance.

Head coach of the Phobians made three changes from the team that won against King Faisal in the previous match as he handed William Denkyi his first start of the season.

Daniel A. Barnieh also replaced Patrick Razak in the lineup while Benjamin Afutu also made way for A. Mamani Lawali.

Many fans weren’t comfortable when the official lineup was released before the game as the Phobians were without regular customers Mitchelle Sarpong and Kwadwo Obeng Junior due to minor knocks and card accumulation respectively.

Abdul Manaf scored the opening goal of the game in the 52nd minutes as he break the deadlock after a barren first half.

Former Samatex striker Victor Aidoo scored a brace in the game for the Phobians to put the game beyond the reach of the away side.

Fredrick Ansah Botchway also scored from the penalty spot to make it 4-0 in favor of the home side.

Prince Adu Kwabena also pulled one back in the 86th minute to give the Hunters a consolation goal as the game was way beyond them.

In the 88th and 90th minutes plus additional time, midfield dynamo A. Mamani Lawali and Benjamin Afutu who climbed off the bench also scored the 5th and 6th goal respectively as they put the game way beyond the Hunters.

The last time 7 goals were scored in the 2nd half was 12th May 2010 against HeartOfLionsFc who were leading HeartsOfOakSC 3-1 at halftime and the game ended 6-5 in favor of the Lions. The league game that has produced the most goals (11) and hat tricks (3) since @GhanaLeague in 1993-94.

Hearts of Oak face a tough task on 11th January,2021 as they play Elmina Sharks on Sunday afternoon.
